Progress Memos

As the project progressed at the Banff Centre, Brenda sent email back to Interval detailing what was happening in the far North... there was always a mixture of hunour, optimism, and the terror of time pressure. ..

"As we hoped when we abandoned the rather quaint idea of generating a detailed external specification and then proceeding to implement it here in Banff, we are converging on a design through conversation and negotiation with one another, our very talented colleagues at the Banff Centre, an awesome but predictably brandamaged piece of hardware (the Onyx has only 4 MB of texture memory), and wondrous, monumental landscapes." Progress memo #1 June 18 '93

"Critter design is proceeding very well. Bear has been dropped from the cast. Bear created scale problems and offered no particularly exciting perceptual features. (This decision is also a response to the raging mammal-centrism in the local turista culture - there are no postcards of animals that are not furry.)" Progress memo #2 June 30 '93

"We're up to our butts in reptiles up here." Progress memo #3 August 4 '93
